JEE Mains Exam
JEE Mains Exam
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains is one of India’s most competitive engineering entrance exams, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It serves as a gateway to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions, as well as a qualifier for the prestigious IITs through the JEE Advanced.
Exam Pattern:
The JEE Mains comprises two papers – Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Planning. Paper 1, conducted in a computer-based mode, includes multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Paper 2 covers Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test for B.Arch/B.Planning.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, securing at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.
Exam Dates: The JEE Mains is held multiple times a year, usually in January and April. Candidates can choose to appear for one or both sessions, with the best score considered.
